The Rock Garden

Q : A photo of the item you last purchased

It all started with a pebble.

Exactly with this white pebble.
As you know, I have never been good with plants. They wilt or in worst cases they just.. give up and die. Thinking of what to do with the small plot of earth (I wouldn't say land), and was thinking of how to make it different and original.

Then, I saw this show called 'DEKO Bersama Eric' and it was showing how to decorate a japanese garden. Ding! A Japanese rock garden, why not? Rocks and pebbles instead of grass.

There were lots and lots of white river pebbles. And of different sorts of sizes too. It's like being in another world: timor white pebbles, white pebbles tiles, white pebbles albae, white river pebbles.. The list just runs without end. Whoever says that all stones just got to be kidding. :)

Not knowing what to buy, I just pointed to some white stones and say: 'Let me have a bag of that.' Smiling and feeling proud that I managed to buy the stones without any complications.

Then , the attendant said : 'Small, Medium, Regular or large?' Porous? Indo Black, Indo White, Pink, Indo Green or Speckled?'

My jaw just dropped. Why, it's almost as complicated as choosing which type of petrol for your car! Mmm.. Just give me..white white. For the size, can you mix a bit of each?'

The attendant frowned. I guess he must be wondering from what planet did I arrive from. I frowned back at him. Well, it's his fault for making me confused. I just wanted some white stones for my small garden to be.

The attendant went to the back and cam back 5 minutes later with a big bag of stones in a wheelbarrow. 'Where is your car, maam?'

He must be crazy. All that stones for me? That bag must be around 25 kg! I just wanted a small bag of stones!

After much confusion and several haggling, I managed to buy a small bag of 12 kg stones. :p The smug on the face was short lived as my small car started to groan at the weight. And just imagine how am I going to lift the heavy bag from the car when I reached home? Que sera sera. I'll worry about it later.
